Job Requirements of Unemployment Claims Specialist:
Responsibilities:
- This position acts as a liaison between our clients and state unemployment agencies and is responsible for analyzing and responding to claim-related documents within predetermined time limits
- Analyze individual case information by reviewing data accessed through the payroll system, from documented telephone calls or document images, to determine if the facts warrant a response
- Initiate timely telephone calls or emails to clients to explain the unemployment process and collect necessary information
- Investigate and resolve state agency concerns with supervisor, other departments and/or State Relationship Managers in a timely manner
- Coordinate phone hearings with state agency and client
- Review unemployment insurance claims against wages earned to determine if benefits were appropriately calculated
Required Skills and Experience:
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Excellent interpersonal and customer service skills
- Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite or related software
- Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail
